Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets
Sweetgum Horticulture, Inc.'s internal Google Sheets integration — what it is and how it uses Google data
Purpose of this app
Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets exists for one purpose: to automatically copy submissions from the contact and careers forms on sweetgumhorticulture.com into a private Google Sheet, so Sweetgum Horticulture's staff can review and respond to inquiries and job applications in one place. It has no other purpose and no other function.
Sweetgum Horticulture, Inc. ("Sweetgum Horticulture," "we," "us," or "our") is a landscape design, garden care, and coaching company serving the Metro West Boston area, operating the website sweetgumhorticulture.com. This page fully describes what Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets does and what Google data it requests, for anyone reviewing our use of Google's APIs, including Google itself.
What Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets does
Our website's contact and careers forms are connected to Google Sheets through this integration. When a visitor submits one of those forms, the submission is automatically copied as a new row into one private Google Sheet, so our staff can review, organize, and respond to inquiries and job applications in one place. That is the integration's only function — it does not perform any other action, and it has no user-facing interface of its own.
Who can authorize and use it
Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets is authorized under a single Google account owned and controlled by Sweetgum Horticulture, Inc. It is an internal business tool, not a public or multi-user application, and is not offered to or used by any other company or individual. Visitors who submit our website forms do not go through Google's sign-in or consent screen themselves — only our own authorized staff account does.
The Google permission it requests, and why
When authorizing Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets, Google displays this permission: "See, edit, create, and delete all your Google Sheets spreadsheets." This is Google's standard description of the Google Sheets API scope (https://www.googleapis.com/auth/spreadsheets) that our form software, RSForm!Pro, uses to connect to Google Sheets.
In practice, Sweetgum Horticulture Sheets only ever uses this permission to add new rows to the one spreadsheet we've designated for form submissions. It does not read, modify, share, or delete any other spreadsheet in the account, and it does not access Gmail, Google Drive files unrelated to Sheets, contacts, calendar, or any other Google data. We request this broader permission because RSForm!Pro's Google Sheets plugin does not offer a narrower, file-specific scope; we do not use the additional access it technically allows.
How the data is used and shared
Information copied into the spreadsheet is used only to manage and respond to form submissions, as described in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell this data or share it with third parties, other than the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. Our use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
